What Are SEO Services?
SEO services are the work of getting your pages into Google’s organic results for the searches that lead to a sale, without paying for each click. An algorithm decides which pages show and in what order. SEO earns you a top spot.
Three things move rankings: your site’s technical health (can Google read it), your content (does it answer the search), and your authority (do other sites vouch for you through links). Good SEO works on all three. Skip one and the other two carry less.
Most searches aren’t commercial, and that shapes the plan. In United States v. Google, the federal court’s 2024 findings of fact found that 80% of Google’s queries are noncommercial, meaning Google doesn’t try to monetize them with an ad. Nearly 12% are navigational, people typing the name of a site they already have in mind. SEO budget belongs on the commercial searches where buyers compare options. That’s where we start.
Why SEO Matters for Your Business
SEO matters because search engines still deliver a large share of the traffic online businesses get. In the same opinion, the court, relying on the government’s economic expert, found that between 33% and 88% of the online traffic of specialized vertical providers (sites built around one category) comes through general search engines, via organic links or ads, depending on the vertical. Those businesses are built to be destinations. Search still feeds them.
Owners rate it too. In Small Business Majority surveys fielded from October 2022 to April 2024, 42% of small business owners named SEO one of the most effective forms of marketing, second only to customer stories at 50%. Ads can win the same click, but they stop when spending stops. Rankings keep sending buyers.
Rankings also compound. Michael, fractional CMO at an 8-9 figure pet brand, says monthly organic revenue went from about $850,000 to a little over $1.3 million in his first ten months with us. His read on the economics: “We can continue investing the same amount of budget towards this channel, but the return will grow over time.” Ad spend doesn’t compound that way.
SEO and AI Search Share a Foundation
SEO is the foundation AI search optimization builds on. In C-SEO Bench, a NeurIPS 2025 benchmark of tactics known as “conversational SEO,” researchers found that moving a page up the search results fed to the AI was significantly more effective than content tricks aimed at the AI itself. Rank first. Then shape the page for the answer.
Arun, who runs a solo AI consultancy, describes the same thing from the client side: “Regardless of if they’re searching on Google or they’re searching on ChatGPT, the underlying principles… there’s someone looking for something.” The behavior hasn’t changed. Our ChatGPT and AI search service covers the AI side of that work.
We’re Our Own Clients
We build and rank our own websites, in markets where the money at stake is ours. When a Google update hits, we feel it in our own sales before any client calls. Some of those sites have sold. In 2020 our founder, Colin Ma, sold two for six figures each, as he told Niche Pursuits.
That shapes every recommendation on this page. If a tactic hasn’t held up on a site where we’d carry the loss, we don’t sell it. We also run a scheduled weekly audit of matchagrowth.com.
Common SEO Problems We Solve
You rank for your brand name but little else, so you only reach customers who already know you
Your pages get impressions but almost no clicks
A past agency built links and content that never moved sales
Your reports can’t separate brand demand from SEO results, so nobody knows what worked
Competitors outrank you for the searches that actually drive purchases
You can’t tell which pages make money and which just sit there
How We Work
Audit
We find what’s holding the site back: technical issues, thin pages, keyword gaps, and pages quietly losing traffic. You get a short list ranked by revenue impact, with the first fixes at the top.
Strategy
We map the searches your customers use to the pages that should win them, then decide what to fix, what to build, and what to leave alone. Doing the right work in the right order is most of the job.
Execution
We do the work: technical fixes, page copy, new pages, internal links, link building. You run your business while the channel gets built.
Reporting
Every month you see what changed, what it earned, and what’s next, in plain language. If something didn’t work, the report says so.
What That Covers
Revenue-First Audit
An audit that shows where revenue is leaking and which fixes pay back first.
Keyword & Competitor Research
Research tied to what buyers actually type, checked against the live results and the competitors already winning them.
On-Page Optimization
Titles, page copy, internal links, and schema rewritten so your money pages can rank.
New Pages
Landing, collection, and service pages built where search demand justifies them.
Link Building
Links from relevant websites in your category that Google counts.
Tracking & Reporting
Clean tracking and a monthly report tied to calls, booked jobs and sales.
SEO Numbers We Check Before We Trust Them
Several common SEO numbers mislead often enough that we check them before they reach a plan or a report. Bad inputs make bad plans.
Traffic Estimates Across April 2023
Semrush’s US traffic estimates dropped between mid-March and mid-April 2023 on every domain we measured, by 28% to 76%, from Angi and Yelp to Houzz and Thumbtack. Unrelated sites don’t fall together in one month. The tool’s model changed. We never quote a traffic decline that crosses it.
Keyword Difficulty of Zero
A difficulty score of 0 often means Google ranks no articles for that search at all. We pull the live results for every topic before it goes on a plan. On a recent plan, that check removed a large share of topics keyword data alone had approved.
Summed Search Volume
Keyword tools list one search in many wordings. Adding those variants together can inflate a topic’s volume many times over. We report the single highest variant.
Duplicate Search Console Rows
Search Console can list the same page twice, with and without the trailing slash. A careless merge can keep the smaller row. The tell is a tiny impression count at a near-perfect position.
We measure our own work too. Every change we ship gets a dated before-and-after read in Search Console, with matched day-of-week windows and brand searches split from non-brand. Brand traffic gets split again into pure brand, brand plus product and brand plus modifier, so a swing in brand demand never gets reported as an SEO win. When a page won’t rank, we compare it term by term against the pages that do. Those pages are matched by type, because a directory listing and a blog post follow different rules.

SEO FAQ
How long does SEO take to work?
SEO usually takes months to work, and the timeline depends on where the site starts. One client, a fractional CMO at an 8-9 figure pet brand, budgeted for position movement by month 3 and real results by month 12. Results came at month 3. He’s careful about it: “It is really uncommon to see SEO results in three months, but we did.” His site was large and healthy to begin with.
Do you lock me into a long contract?
Our contracts are monthly retainers with a minimum term, stated in the proposal before any work starts. The term exists because the first months carry the audit and the heaviest fixes, and SEO needs time to show what it can do. There are no setup or build fees. One flat monthly number covers the scope.
Will you show me what you’re actually doing?
We show you what we’re doing every month. The report lists what shipped, what it earned in calls, booked jobs or sales, and what’s next. Each change gets a dated before-and-after read in Search Console. You see whether it moved. If a bet didn’t pay off, you’ll read that too.
Do I need a whole new website?
You usually don’t need a whole new website for SEO to work. Most sites have more upside in fixing and expanding what’s already there than in starting over. Ranking pages carry history worth keeping. If a rebuild is the right call for your business, we’ll tell you and explain why before anything gets scoped.
We tried SEO before and it didn’t work. Why would this be different?
SEO that didn’t work before usually wasn’t tied to revenue. We start by finding what your last effort missed: pages chasing searches nobody buys from, links that never moved rankings, reports that counted brand demand as SEO. We test on our own sites. Then we measure every change against a dated baseline.
